Is the vessel's condition consistent with her age and price? A full condition survey includes a thorough inspection of a vessel's structure and systems - above and below the waterline.

OBJECTIVES

Usually the point of a full condition survey is to perform due diligence before completing a purchase. The survey provides the information you need to make decisions: proceed, request a price change on the back of identified defects, or reconsider the project.

A full condition survey may also be done before a refit to define the scope.

WHAT WE DO

The vessel is inspected above and below the waterline, inside and outside. We take readings using measuring devices appropriate to the hull material (e.g. ultrasound to determine steel thickness, electromagnetic testers to determine moisture content in FRP). We check the rudder, keel, deck sterngear and systems. By the end of the survey we have completed a 33 page checklist of over 400 items in most cases.

Optional extras include seatrial and laboratory analysis of fuel, oil, rig components and engine performance (undertaken by authorized manufacturer's representatives).

DELIVERABLES

You will receive a report that describes our findings and what we did to reach them. Normally a full condition report is 18-30 pages, depending on the size and condition of the vessel.

The reports are written clearly and are designed to be user friendly. Recommendations are prioritized, numbered and organized by skillset to enable easier distribution to works contractors.
